Carina Devi, Head of Mindfulness

Hi Mamas, I’m Carina Devi - yoga, meditation, and mindfulness teacher, and single Mama to a wise and wild four year old, Harrison Cedar.

I was fortunate to be raised by yogis who taught me how to live mindfully at a young age. Yoga, meditation, and mindfulness have been the guiding lights and anchors that have given me my greatest joys (like an out-of-this-world-pleasurable home birth), and helped me navigate through the darkest times (like when I was trying to find my way out of the trenches of postpartum depression and anxiety).

I have learned through these experiences that being a mindful Mama is the single most powerful thing we can do for ourselves. There are many things we cannot control, and motherhood brings us face to face with that reality every day. When we have a toolbox that is decked out with breathing techniques, awareness pauses, and mindful exercises, we have everything we need to regain our sense of center, calm, and creativity to best handle whatever life throws our way.

I have been a lifelong student of meditation, yoga, and mindfulness. In my early twenties I began a deep dive into what it meant for my own power as a woman, leading me to become a birth doula - a source of knowledge and support for other women who on a similar journey.

After working as a birth doula for a few years, I felt a desire to deepen my knowledge of women’s bodies, and to help my clients find greater ease and empowerment in their birthing experience. I attended Silverlake Yoga School’s Pre- and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training in Los Angeles in 2012. This training awakened my love of teaching and reignited my love of yoga. I have been trained in many styles of yoga, including Restorative, Kundalini, and Vinyasa, although Yin has a special place in my heart due to its balancing and feminine nature.

It is my greatest joy in life to help you peel back the layers of stress, anxiety, tension, and fear to reveal your most radiant, shining self. I know that at the core of your being lies a place of deep peace, flowing joy, infinite patience, and unwavering compassion. When you can mother from that place, the entire world benefits.
